UTA does what I don't think anyone thought they would do and swept Texas State, the same Texas State that swept them in San Marcos to open the conference season. After a 1-5 start to SBC play, UTA finishes 19-11 and outright second place.

Conference tournament coming up. It is in Mobile, the home of the South Alabama Jaguars. As the second seed, UTA faces the seventh seed, which happens to be...the South Alabama Jaguars.

They finished very strong. Bats came along. We knew that eye going to be a competitive team but with the new, and improved, conference it was going to be tricky.

Still gotta win the damn thing right? Have they don't enough for an at large bid? This has been a traditional multi bid league and we are the 2 seed.

their record is midleading. They went like 23-11 or something since starting 4-15, and this I think was considered (before the season, anyway) one of the toughest schedules they've played in a long time, maybe of all-time. Top 10 nationally in several offensive categories, pretty impressive considering how big our ballpark is and the fact the wind is usually blowing in this time of year. I'd be surprised if Coach Thomas doesn't get coach of the year.

UTA has zero chance on an at-large. Despite beating three teams ranked in the top 25, they also lost to 2 DI-transitional teams and were like 3-7 against SLC teams. They won when they had to, but it will be for naught without winning the tourney.

As for coach of the year, UL-L went 49-7, most regular season wins ever for an SBC team. He most likely has it.
