[quote]UT Arlington baseball and softball took a step towards the future as they broke ground on new $1.95 million dollar indoor practice facilities at both Clay Gould Ballpark and Allan Saxe Field.

"We're very excited for both programs," UTA Athletic Director Jim Baker said. "This has been long time coming, and will help with the teaching and development of our student-athletes. Hopefully it's the first step to future renovations for both programs."

The facilities, which are expected to be completed in January of 2013, are 5,940 sq. feet for baseball and 3,500 sq. feet for softball.

UTA athletes will be able to use the facilities on their own for batting practice as the facility will feature multiple batting cages complete with pitching machines.Ground
